A day of rest does wonders for an aching body. The past weekend’s runs were intense, not to mention the 48 mile week, but I got through both of them, I did my first 15.5 miler this past weekend, and actually performed quite well on it. Its amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. I tried not to think about the distance I was running, instead, just focused on running and staying safe. These are the types of experiences I need to remember when I start the Steamtown training, I know I can do it, I just have to keep my mind focused on the goal.

It will feel good to get back into the swing of things tomorrow, I actually miss running when I don’t do it for a day or so. This week should be easy, finishing it off with my last speed workout on Sunday in the 3 mile River Run … that will get me pumped for racing in prep for the half, and then after the half, the cherry blossom run the next week, that will get rid of the last of the adrenalin I had from the half …….. I always seem to need that.
