I’m trying real hard to get my mileage down, I did half the amount of miles of last weekend, so my body is just now beginning to understand that its time to heal up for the big race. I’m getting VERY excited about this race now, the weather has changed, and you can feel it becoming marathon-time.
I’m watching my weight and diet right now because I did put on 1 1/2 pounds in the last 2 weeks from eating too much. As I cut my miles back, I have to cut back my eating as well. I’m actually running harder at shorter distances, like today I only did 2 1/2 miles, but I did them fast. I did 4.25 miles yesterday, REAL fast (like 34 minutes), plus it was a hilly course. It didn’t bother me though, I think I just have to lean back and trust my training, and know that I did it well, and that I will succeed.
More steamtown emails should be coming through as we get closer to the big day. My hope is that the weather holds out and there is no heavy rain or anything, and that it doesn’t get real cold. I guess these are things I can’t control, so I won’t try to, I can only control not getting sick, not getting hurt, cutting my miles back and eating right. On to it we go!
