They wanted a chance

I was presenting the other day and I had a person in the room who already made their decision not to listen.

They were invited by another attendee, and attended under protest.

Their body language, lack of eye contact, constant checking their phone and gazing around the room was enough to tell me that.

The other attendees in the room sensed this as well since I could feel the negative energy.

But I didn’t let this slow me down me from presenting and staying positive.

After delivering the presentation, I began involving the group.

This person was the only one that didn’t volunteer to respond or share anything and it became obvious to me.

They really BADLY wanted to be heard and they didn’t know how to ask.

I positively engaged with them and what they shared helped not only the group because it gave another viewpoint, but it helped them become positive.

Sometimes we have to help others get their message out.

Each of us have challenges, opportunities and pain and need to be heard so that we can work through it and find success.

Most just need confidence and a chance to speak.

The two of us ended up having a great conversation afterward once I understood their pain.

It was really amazing.

How do you help others get their message out?
