So 18 weeks ago I started the journey to running my 4th marathon, and its all come down to tonight. In just 12 hours I’ll be sitting at Forest City High School waiting for the race to start … I’ve had 2 rest days in a row, along with a 3 miler this morning, which went went well for the most part. I’m fairly bloated at this point due to all the carbs, and the water i’ve been drinking.
I’ve had ups and downs as always during the training, so I’m hoping the effort pays off … this year won’t be a cold race, it will be very warm .. starting in the upper 50’s and ending in the upper 70’s .. with a chance of a shower. I’m hoping that it stays overcast and that the sun doesn’t come out entirely… All my stuff is set for the morning, I plan on getting up at around 4:45, catching a shower, getting ready, and heading out by 5:15 or so in order to get there by 5:45. Parking is terrible so I hope to get a good spot this year and get to Forest City so i can relax before the race.
There isn’t too much more to say except i’m nervous for some reason, but I am anticipating a good race. I prepared, and although the last week has been rough, I’ve taken the time today to carb load, drink tons of fluids and to rest, it’s almost time to head up and relax for the night.
I must be getting popular with my running as I had 2 people ask me if i’m in the race tomorrow, kind of pumped me up …
So the next post will be after the race is complete, not sure when it will be since i’m generally wiped out totally after a race…. but I will right, STAY TUNED!
