We all have challenging relationships in our lives and in our businesses.

But many of those relationships can hold opportunities for us if we can just “reframe” our thinking.

Reframing is when we change our point of view on a given situation.

And although the facts remain the same, we decide to make a deliberate shift in how we see it.

We may have had experiences with people that caused us to label them a certain way.

And this is simply a label that is attached to that experience.

Then if you always view these relationships through that label, this will shift your focus and filter out any potential opportunities.

So instead of saying someone talks too much, reframe it to be that they are outgoing.

Or if you feel that someone is bossy, reframe it to that they are a leader.

And if a person won’t follow rules, reframe it that they are creative and innovative.

Changing our point of view on a relationship through reframing can allow us to begin to grow that relationship.

Because we are now focusing on the potential it can bring instead of the label we may have placed on it.
