My post last night about how I intend to get myself back on track has inspired me and gotten me off to the right track. I changed around my eating today and intend to add some different foods into my diet once I get back to the store, but have started to make the effort. I intend to cut out the nightly ice cream once again because honestly its getting boring to me … I eat it as my ‘savior’ for the day, but really its unnecessary, if I spice up what I eat more during the day, it will not bother me. I did this last summer around this time as well …. I also intend to add more ‘girth’ to my meals as well, in the forms of seasoning and veggies and stuff, because again, I find that my food is real bland, I don’t think skipping this stuff helps …
I did face the reality by getting on the scale again this morning like I was so faithfully a few weeks back. Not too bad, I woke up at 198 pounds, which is up around 4 pounds from May … I do have some work to do I guess, and I even intend on going out for a walk during lunchtime instead of sitting here at my desk. The added exercise helps loosen me up, but it also burns some more calories. We’ll see how that works out…
My 6 miler this morning went well, I pushed myself instead of just laying back .. my point I made about following truly what my workout should be (either speed, or pace, or hills) is important to continue to achieve and do better in my runs. I find that on Sundays when I do my speed run, I am actually slowing down, averaging just 8:15-8:30 mile by mile 5 or so .. thats not good, and far down from where I was. So something is up … maybe its my weight, I dunno.
I am working hard to get that marathon feeling back, I think these things will help, along with the vacation this weekend to the beach. running down in Wildwood is always nice, helps free my mind and hopefully will not bring back bad memories of the OD marathon back in March. I doubt it will. The body feels good right now, no pains or anything (calves are still slightly sore) …
Enough for now ….
