I got my first medium length run in since the marathon, it felt pretty good although I can tell my legs are tired. I only did 12 miles along a usual course, and the weather was great, which really makes the difference. I’m a little sore now, but not too bad.

The spring trail run is tomorrow, and I’m expecting to be there to register by 12:30. I remember the course from last year, and although its challenging, its a little bit different. I do need to be careful because I can really injure myself if i trip or something on a trail run.

I’m looking up the race plan for the early spring and throughout the Steamtown training. Since I don’t have to teach this summer on weekends (and probably not at night either), i’ll be able to hit more races than last year … gotta enjoy them while I can, because once the fall comes, its marathon, marathon, then the diamonds and thats about it.

My training schedule still needs to be finalized, I did some work to clean up an area on my porch where I can lift some weights and stretch a bit each day, kind of like last year. I don’t want to get nuts lifting weights, but I think it helps me, plus it helps strengthen my back at the same time. I need to get full power back in my back since I injured in the offseason … I’m also planning my eating schedule too, its time to modify my normal eating since its getting kind of boring (really boring). I’ve been eating the same things for WAY too long.

I do intend to run all the races in the Luzerne County Triple Crown … you can see that in my upcoming races. I know I won’t win it, but it will be cool to participate (again, because I don’t have to teach weekends this summer.)

Oh well, on to resting and working on my training plan!
