It seems like it has been forever since i last updated the blog here, I think it shows just how busy I am right now. I haven’t let up on my running or training, and am still planning for the Ocean Drive marathon. I am coming off a recovery week, with my long run being only 11 miles, but i’m heading into a longer week with 18 miles scheduled for this weekend.

My schedule has changed drastically with my job change. I’ve been at my new employer now for 5 days, and trying to get my runs in can be a challenge. I found out that going to the YMCA after work, just doesn’t work, its too crowded, so today I went there at 5:30am, and it was just perfect! I got my 5-miler in with no issue, but I am concerned about how i’ll get 8 miles in tomorrow. I might have to trek out in the cold after work to get them in, and if we do, then we do, we’ll make it. I just can’t tie up a treadmill for that long a time in the late afternoon.

I’ve had a little pain here and there, especially in my lower calf last week, but it went away. My back has been fine for the most part, no pain or anything, but I can still feel some soreness every now and again, especially today after doing 30 minutes on the bike. I really hadn’t been on the bike since I injured my back prior to Christmas, so it was something different. I don’t plan on going back to the bike though, i’m just going to stick with running.

I have to travel to Ottawa Canada next week, so thats going to put a wrench in my training to some degree. I am scheduled for my first 20 miler the weekend I come back, so it should be interesting. I’ll probably push my training up and go Monday, TUesday and Wednesday, then fly out Wed. afternoon, maybe catch a run Thursday morning and then take Friday off. I’ll have to run Saturday morning before I fly out at lunch-time at the hotel, apparently they have a 24/7 fitness center, guess we’ll see.

Its great to write again, I hope my time frees up a little bit more in the coming weeks, I miss coming here and sharing all my stories! But training is going well!
