Our competitive advantage in business does not come from just a vision or stated strategy.
It comes from the execution of that strategy each day.
And that strategy usually involves people.
So knowing how, when & how much to delegate to others is crucial.
The best way to start delegating is to make a list of what you do & decide which activities you should be doing & which are tasks others should be doing.
We find a greater level of success when we multiply our impact by working with & through others.
Then, be a problem solver & help remove obstacles.
Challenges will always come up, but think ahead & consider the top 5 obstacles beforehand & how you would work through them.
And then most importantly, keep communications open.
I volunteered for a running race this past weekend that did not have a good execution plan.
Although the race went on eventually, I spoke with many unhappy customers who likely will not return.
Race checkin was inefficient, it lacked communication, and did not start at the scheduled times due to many challenges.
Worst yet, most volunteers left their posts early, which is dangerous for the competitors.
Our customers expect us to execute.
How well do you delegate in your business?
