Things really got cool and damp here in the northeast … I know, I complain if its cold, if its real hot, if its rainy, theres just no making me happy I guess!

My lower back has become sore in the last 24 hours, not sure why, I am hoping that it is because of the cooler weather … I didn’t do anything to it since my run yesterday morning when I did well, however I did sit kind of awkward leg-crossed at work yesterday. I know anytime I sit like that, or sit with my feet on my desk, my back gets sore. You would think I would have learned that by now, eh?

I was able to get up and get new shoes today (New Balance 1601’s). I had to get the WIDE size since they didn’t have any of the regular size 13’s, so tomorrows’ run should not be quite so painful. My toes are finally healing, and i’m not even sure if I mentioned the struggle I had with my second toe in on my left foot after wearing my old Asics last Saturday. That toe is a mess again, but I know how to deal with it. My black toe is finally becoming ‘not’ black, I think the constant care and attention i’ve been giving it tends to help (plus the change in shoes really helps).

I’ve got to map my course in full for tomorrow and make sure I have enough dollar bills to get through it without dehydrating … I bought a new 4 bottle fuel belt today as well, it can hold up to 32 oz. of fluid, and I’m going to stop along the way for at least 1, if not 2, bottles of water. Its not supposed to be too bad tomorrow, early lows around 55 or 56, getting up to around 80 degrees, so it should not be as bad as its been. we’ll see.

Another thing i’m trying are the “Sports Beans” instead of GU Gels … I found last week that taking a full GU Gel is just too much for me, and actually recall back to Steamtown last year when people were handing out gummy fish, and jellybeans, and how well they made me perform, so we’ll give them a shot.

Other than that, just planning to rest, stay stretched and keep heat on my back. I am hoping to stay hydrated based on my plan from last weekend (2 hours prior, not all at one time) so I don’t dehydrate this week again, so I can head into my step back week feeling good. I hope it works!
