So I have been taking a little easier this week as I prepare for two hard-core weeks of fall training for the Harrisburg marathon in November. I haven’t been faithful in writing in the blog here, mostly because I have been quite busy, but I haven’t forgotten about running.

I did take Monday off, and did 3, then 4 and then 5 miles this morning in prep for 14 miles Saturday and 10 on Sunday … then we get into the 50+ mile weeks again. It does feel good to sleep and rest a little more and catch up on life a bit. I’ve been eating a little more here and there, just treating myself I guess, and thankfully from Steamtown I have no major injury to report .. all the aches and pains are about passed, and I intend to rest tomorrow.

So I’m starting to consider now what the winter has to hold for me and what the plans for the spring will be. I don’t feel i’ll get an early marathon in this year (like last year) just because of the logistics of trying to train in the weather. I just don’t think it’ll work for me…. I’m considering buying a bike and starting to bike over the winter and getting into swim classes with the intention maybe of doing a triathlon later next year, but theres NO PROMISES ON THAT! I don’t want to stop running races because running Steamtown really fired my up and i’m actually excited about Harrisburg, despite the fact I was in such pain and suffering just a few days ago … its funny how that works.

Other than that, it’ll be a difficult weekend to run with having to teach … and the weather has finally turned into fall, so its time to start bundling up a bit instead of acting like summertime… it was nice while it lasted, but I knew it would end soon.

So on to the last day of real relief before kicking it back in again ….
