I’ve spent the last two days running in the weee hours of the morning, due to the extreme heat. I got 4 in yesterday, and 9 in today, and the funny thing is, even at 5:15am, its STILL hot. I left the house, with the sun not up yet, and it was 77 degrees. It was still better than running any other time of the day though. Tom, our VP, went out at 11:30am for a 3-miler, and regretted it, it was really hot.
Regardless, my legs are starting to get tired, the miles this morning verified that. I’m not feeling any direct pain or anything in my legs, just feeling tired I guess. I ran this mornings 9-miler in just about 1:23, which is pretty good (just about a 9-minute mile), that might be reason. I find myself being OVERLY hungry, and not putting on any weight. I guess my body is just getting in better shape.
I intend to run out tomorrow at lunch for the 4-miler, I can’t keep getting up at 5am everyday, then going to work all-day, and then dealing with the family until 10pm each night, I’m just tired. I’ve been faithfully taking my blood pressure, and its not looking good. I think i’m going to end up on medication (BLAH!).
We continually talk about the triathlon here at work, since its only 4 days away, and its getting me somewhat pumped up for the race. the only downer is that I don’t know when to expect my teammates, nor am I getting a great or long enough workout to find alot of value in it. Oh well, I guess I should just enjoy the experience either way.
