I haven’t had much time to write in the blog this week, seems just as I thought, once September hit, things would get busy for me again. Work is a little busy right now, along with a ton of personal commitments, and then teaching starting this weekend! Its nuts!

I’ve managed to get in my runs this week, during the stepback period, and am seeing that my legs are feeling somewhat rested. I’ve done a decent job catching up on my sleep (although work isn’t helping at all), so I hope to be ready for the final 2 hard weeks of training leading up to Steamtown. As i wrote the other day, my legs were terribly sore into even Wednesday, but finally subsided on Thursday and into today. I really didn’t realize how badly I got tore up from that race, but I certainly enjoyed it.

So Keystone College threw me a shot to my schedule by requesting I teach a Fri night/Sat morn. class instead of the late class on Sat and Sun. Since I enjoy teaching that class so much more, I didn’t have a problem, although it threw me for a loop because they asked for the change YESTERDAY, just one day before the class started. So I ended up having to scurry around trying to get things set for it, it also has messed up my running schedule (thats already tight as it is!) I planned on doing the race last Monday, then 6 miles, 8 miles, 6 miles and then 8 miles today (which worked well), but then my 14 miler (easy long run) would fit in perfectly tomorrow morning before I headed to teach, and then take Sunday off. Well, I think i’ll still follow the same plan, although I have to get up MUCH earlier on a Saturday to accomplish it. I’m thinking of having the class start at like 8:30 instead of 8, and I don’t think they’ll object. That will let me sleep then until 5, out by 5:15, back by 7:20 or so, and in the showers and on the road by 7:35 to class … we’ll see how that works out.

I still don’t know how to handle the week i’m in Boston, and I have to teach … its going to be rough and may have to hold my last 22 miler out until the Monday after … just for logistical sake. I just don’t think i’ll have time that last weekend to get it in, but we’ll have to see. I hate to take a half day for it, but hey, i’m dedicated and have come too far, that will begin the taper, maybe its a good thing to do the last log run a little later than I normally do, i dunno.

Well, it’ll be a rough weekend so I doubt i’ll update the blog at all. Nothing major happening though, back into HARD training next week as we prepare for the taper in 2 weeks!
