Introvert, Extrovert, Ambivert?

I grew up as a computer guy,  tucked away in isolated places to be with my computers.

This naturally caused me to not spend a lot of time with people.

And naturally I was tagged as an introvert.

It wasn’t until years later when I found my real being that I realized that although I had some traits of being an introvert, I was not fully an introvert.

I like people, I consider myself outgoing, I wasn’t shy….

I didn’t fit the classic definition of an introvert, so what was I?

In the early 1900’s, Carl Jung theorized that as individuals, we tend to lean towards being either an extrovert or an introvert.

And he believed these terms were to represent the extremes rather than to be used to actually define us as a person.

He also stated that whether we are one or the other is based on the way we process information.

Extroverts prefer the external world of objects, people and activities.

Introverts prefer to find meaning within their own internal world of  thoughts and feelings.

Since I was a little of both, could it be possible that I was an “ambivert”?

An ambivert has features of both the extrovert & the introvert and can easily move between them.

This sounded like me.

I think I had my answer.
