I was very happy yesterday when the race director for the race I missed on Sunday (cherry blossom run), showed up at my house with the t-shirt for the race I didn’t run. I’ve never missed a race before, so i’m not sure if this is normal, but I was really touched that he came all the way up for that. If only he knew that I’ll never wear the shirt, because in my own mind, I didn’t earn it. I only wear race shirts for races that i’ve run, because each one has its own story behind it, and i think of that story when I wear the shirt …. honestly, I missed the race for a real bad reason (my wife with pneumonia), its not something I want to remember. I gave it to my wife though, she’ll wear it.

The VP of my department asked me today if I was free on August 6th .. I wasn’t sure why, but knew it had something to do with running. Apparently, he and another employee from my company were looking for a third member of a triatholon relay team for the upcoming Wilkes-Barre Triatholon. THe one woman, an attorney from our legal department will do the 1 mile swim, my VP will do the 20 mile bike and I’ll do the 7 mile run ……… it should be cool because I get to cross the finish-line. I’m excited about this, and it actually gives me a race for the start of August. I’ll have to update my calendar of where i’ll be!
