I’m thinking that the scaled back week I just completed helped my foot heal up a little bit. I completed my ‘long’ run for the week (if you can call it that) which totaled 8.25 miles. My foot is not bothering me thankfully, and I actually ran it pretty quick as well, the interesting part will be to see how it feels tomorrow. I’m not anticipating any pain or anything, because I think I would start to feel it by now if it was going to happen. Its actually a beautiful fall day here in the northeast for the middle of November, I went out and it was like 55 degrees out, for this time of year, thats great. Its supposed to stay nice for the next couple days at least, and hopefully into Thanksgiving week as well.

An interesting side effect I noted from taking it easy this week was that I really am getting pumped to run, and to train. I recall back when I started the Steamtown training many, many months ago, I felt about the same, and I think this is how I should feel going into a training cycle. I commented on Tuesday on how I should be having great runs, not just good runs, well, I think I remember now what it takes to do that. I intend to still take it easy tomorrow since I do have to teach all day, so I’m not sure what the workout will be. I’m thinking that the Pilates I have been doing is helping my running, by the way, I must give credit where credit is due. I purchased the Pilates for Runners program from http://www.pilates4runners.com, and it really is working. I did the 8.25 miler today without even really taxing myself… it could be because i’m rested, but I’ve been faithfully doing Pilates now for 4 weeks (3 times a week), and it is getting easier, and I can feel the difference.

Well, enough for now, I have a long weekend ahead so I must get to it. ODMarathon, here I come .. I have to remember to book my hotel yet, and to register for the NJ Marathon as well, which runs 5 weeks later than the OD …
