It was another 10-miler at 4:30am this morning as I wrote yesterday, and although it was a great run (plus I ran it fast too), I can feel myself getting tired more and more everyday. Only one more day (tomorrow) to get up early and run, and then we’re getting closer to being home-free. I have one long run left on Saturday morning, the rest are just marginal type speed runs, and tempo runs to keep my pace.

I can say that I feel much more ready for the upcoming races than I did for the ocean drive marathon. I think this is the difference between training hard and being committed vs. just doing it to say I can do it. I’m actually starting to get excited because I know its almost taper time … I believe my weight is down as well, i’m feeling slim and find myself not eating quite so much, we’ll see if thats a good or bad thing. The one thing I really have to focus on is getting rest. I find that i’m running here, there and all over, plus work is busy, and i’m just not getting to bed early enough anymore. Monday night I had to work until 9:30pm, didn’t get to bed until almost 10pm (then up at 4:30am), and last night, I didn’t get to bed until almost 9pm (then up at 4;15am). Its brutal.

The weather is supposed to be great the next couple days, so I hopefully struggled with the weather for the last time this week. I don’t mind rain, but can’t stand the cold and wind. I really hope we’re past that …… I am continually getting emails from the Lehigh Valley half marathon people, reminders, information and more, and it continues to keep me psyched for the race. I wish the run for the red would start sending emails, but it must be too small for the race director to be able to do it. Thats the big one though, the silver tuna. I’m feeling good for that race .. I can’t wait!
