I’ve just completed my the last workout before my rest day, and i’m taking advantage of it fully. I intend to relax tonight and all day tomorrow (plus I have to teach Friday and Saturday) in preperation for the long running weekend (plus the send-off to vacation!). I deliberately took it easy today, after a long harder run yesterday. I managed to get 8 miles in (at 5:15am) at a pace of around 9:15/mile, which is not marathon pace, but not as slow as I was going. I did feel the effects though because my knees were absolutely killing me yesterday, and even through my weight workout this morning, I seemed to have triggered some pain in them as well (it didn’t bother me so much when I was running though).

I’m nervous about my weekend schedule since I have to teach, plus travel on Sunday, its going to be hard to get 16 miles in Saturday, plus 8 miles Sunday morning before we head out … I hope I can make it without injuring myself, I just have to play it smart I guess.
