What is your destination?

I recently finished working on a strategy session with a client to help them grow their business.

We discussed the importance of how all things in life are made up of a destination and a journey.

But sometimes we lose sight of this if we don’t stop and remind ourselves about how important that is.

When I started my career, I did not make much progress until I truly defined my destination so I was then able to build the plan for my journey.

In my athletic life, I didn’t begin to excel in my sport until I defined the destination and built a plan to get there.

When I get in my car and start to drive, I always know where i’m going and then build a path to get there.

It is a simple concept, but sometimes we have to remind ourselves to use it.

Each day, week or month that goes by that we don’t know our destination costs us something.

It can cost us time, money, relationships and opportunities that we miss just by not being clear about what we’re doing.

Our journey teaches us a lot about ourselves too, and helps us to appreciate the destination when we get there.

And when you get to a destination, you get to set a new destination and start out on a new journey so that you can continue to grow.

It gets contagious.

Where are you on your journey?
