Well, its sad but true that the major part of my training for Steamtown is coming near an end. I have a 22 miler plus a 10 miler planned for the weekend, and then its taper time. I’ve been doing some reading and intend on reminding myself (via posting a blog entry) on what NOT to do during the taper. I’ve been advised over and over again to make sure I taper and to not let myself get carried away doing more miles than I should. My body needs to rest, god knows if anybody is actually reading this blog, you can see the pain and anguish I have had since before the start of the training even.

I actually had a decent running week, although I got stuck inside on the treadmill for 2 5-milers on Wed and Thursday. It was a different experience, but I got through, and I can’t wait to get outside again tomorrow. The body is feeling pretty strong right now, I don’t have any aches and pains except for by abdominal muscles from doing crunches again this week (I stopped for a week or so, its amazing how much you lose in such a small amount of time). I hope to get a good nights sleep tonight before I head out on the big run tomorrow ….
