The other day, I met with a young business owner who had just started out in a new business.

He felt like he knew it all because he had seen such great success being a banker in his previous job.

He didn’t see any value or want to spend any time building a business network.

He expected referrals to his new business just to roll in because he felt he was the best at what he did.

He obviously didn’t believe in giving yourself to others first and building relationships.

The ironic thing is that he told me his career goal was to not work anymore.

And by taking this approach to his business, he will probably meet his goal sooner than he thinks.
