I wrote yesterday about how I was going to run the trail run at Francis Slocum today, and I just decided to blow it off. I got up this morning and was quite sore in my hips again and also I thought about how tired I would be running at 1pm (instead of 6am like i’m used to).

I did get out for my final mileage before semi-tapering again … I got in 8 1/2 miles to match my 20 from yesterday and I really pushed the pace. I got motivated by some scenery along the course (doesn’t take much with me) .. but I did forget my watch, so I really don’t know what my time was, but I felt satisfied. I intend to just take it easy this afternoon before having to work later on tonight (ugh).

This week offers me some reduced mileage as I get ready for my taper week next week. I’ll still get out everyday except tomorrow probably and average around 42 or 44 miles (depending). I have to keep the intensity up, but the weather is finally turning here in the northeast, it actually FELT like October today (about a 35 degree wind chill). I have to remember to start considering the wind chill when I’m heading out now ..

So in two weeks i’ll be just about done with Harrisburg and planning for the Diamond Run .. and then the season comes to close. I have to setup a conditioning program of some sort for the winter, but its too early to worry about that now.
