I wrote yesterday about my back bothering me, and I actually admit that I think I made it more than it was. I can’t say it wasn’t a little uncomfortable, but it certainly was nowhere near the pain I was in weeks ago. It actually subsided later in the morning and never returned. I’ve been getting a dull ache here and there since the weekend, and even during the 4 mile run I just completed.
I still plan on doing the Ocean Drive as it stands right now, things seem to be stable with my back. We’ll have to take it a day at a time though, still taking it easy. The goal, if you remember, is to get to the race, and complete it. I don’t care about my time, or even if I have to walk it, the point is that I want to finish.
I tried stretching and moving in a way that would possibly cause pain in my back, and I wasn’t able to do it, so that tells me that its more stable than I think. Remember last summer, the ‘phantom pains’ that I spoke about all the time? I think that might be what is going on. Guess we’ll have to see …
