alas, I think I got it again

Its now been 3 full days back to running (i should really call it jogging), and I got my first run in outside since late last week. Wow, what a rush! I remember now the reasons why I love running, its the fresh air and the solitude. I’m happy to say that i’ve racked up 11 miles this week (plus crosstraining on Monday) and feel good. The hamstring is not bothering me at all.

I’m happy that the injury didn’t throw off the start to Steamtown training (which is the concept behind this blog). I did scale the training back a bit, but I will probably adjust as time moves along. The Fairfield half-marathon isn’t totally out of the question yet, we’ll see how well I can get the miles made up the next two weeks. Worst case is I can always go and run it and just use it as experience (hell with the time on it) … we’ll worry about that later though.

I do suggest, even to myself, that if injured, take a day or two or three off and rest it. I could’ve been better off if I would’ve just taken the time off from the beginning of the injury instead of trying to be stud-boy 🙂
