I will run again … keeping positive!

I’m using some of the advice that I got via email, from other blogs and from comments from folks who understand the withdrawal i’m going through right now without running. The good news is that my back and hip feel better today than yesterday, but still not at 100%. I figure i’m making progress at this point and have scheduled an appointment with the chiropractor tomorrow. The funny thing is that everytime I go to see a chiropractor, my injuries tend to subside somewhat just before the appointment .. but thats not a bad thing. I figure that even if it starts to feel better, getting stretched out and adjusted can’t be a bad thing as we head into the end of the season.

So the title of this post says it all ‘I WILL RUN AGAIN!’ .. I’m still very hopeful and quite positive that I can finish the Philly marathon on November 22nd despite the setback to my training. I’m in great shape as of now, and i’m thinking that it will take more than a week off to knock me down from my fitness level .. don’t get me wrong, it will cut into it, but not totally take it away as long as I remain smart in my approach to the race.

The best thing is that I’ve decided to stop moping and complaining about being injured and pull out the Wii Active to get a short low impact workout in and to start doing some serious walking whenever I can during the day .. I need to do something to get this adrenaline out of me and to do what I can to keep myself in shape. The hope is that by the weekend i’ll be in shape to at least get a mile or two in and start the rehab, but we’ll have to wait and see… My attitude is much better as I’m thinking positive and looking forward to getting back on the road. Attitude really goes a long way I think ..

Don’t worry, i’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that I continue to heal …. 😉
