easing back into it

After a weekend of nothing, and a good bike ride on Monday, I made my first attempt to lightly jog again on a treadmill. I got 3 miles in without any pain (although at a slow pace). I decided to stay inside even though its BEAUTIFUL outside, because I figure that if I felt pain, I could stop whereas if I’m outside, i’m kind of stuck.

It felt good to run again, i’m going through the emotional hardship of not running, its amazing the overall ‘harmony’ it creates for you when you have an activity like this.

I’m able to keep up with my formal training plan as of right now since it started on Monday (18-weeks). I expected to get in 3 easy miles in, which I did. We’ll take it a day at a time though, and see where it gets us. I’d rather take it easy and modify the training as I need to so that I can run, and not be hurt.

I certainly learned my lesson on pushing myself more than I should. I was silly to think that I could keep my 5K pace for a 5 MILE run. Sure, the time was great, but the problems it caused me was not worth it.
