I completed week number of two of the 18-week training program, I was able to get both the 5 miler yesterday and an 11 miler today. Its rough taking on this many miles on a weekend, but its only going to get worse from here. I found out on Saturday though that the pain in my upper groin area was being caused by the ‘leg lifts’ I started doing a week or two back. I realized this because I ran Thursday morning early, had Friday off and lifted Saturday morning. Everything felt fine until I lifted, then it started being sore again … suffice to say, we’ll drop that from our lifting routine.

Either way, I had scaled the training back a bit to Hal’s “intermediate 1” schedule, but have slowly migrated back into “intermediate 2”. Things feel pretty good except for my knees like always, i just have to take it easy and get a new pair of shoes. My upcoming week should be a little chnage with me being out of town and all, I have to run indoors or in a strange place. Oh well, we’ll get through. This week upcoming is a recovery week before the next increase in mileage …

Only 16 weeks to go until Steamtown, it seems a long way off, but it’ll be here before I know it. I’m officially registered now in the WB Triathlon for the running leg, so thats my short-term goal …
