I am happy to state that I have survived the first 6 weeks of marathon training, although I am a little sore, I am still alive. Its been a challenge so far, i’ve fought a few minor injuries and aches and pains all over, but hopefully alot of that is behind me now. As I move into the second cycle, my focus starts to change a little bit whereas the first cycle concentrated on conditioning the body by building miles, the second cycle will focus now on pace and endurance, which also building miles. I went out for 15 miles on the bike today, my legs are like rubber, but they felt good. My hips and calves are really sore, but I know it will go away.

Its about 95 degrees out this week, so training will be difficult, especially tomorrow’s 4-miler. I’ll have to try and get out before 11am or so to beat the heat, but I’m not sure I am going to. I intend to take the fuel belt with me to carry some fluids so I don’t dehydrate, should be interesting.

I posted some new stuff on the blog yesterday, namely my daily food log (from fitday.com) and more importantly, my training log up until 7/16 and my entire training plan laid out until 10/8. There might be small changes to is as we move forward (namely moving workouts from day to day), however the mileage won’t change at all. I also posted a webpage with my 5/12/06 picture vs. my 7/16/06 picture (although I’m not giving out the link … wanna see? email me!) … you can see the body changes that have taken place already, its amazing (and i’m only 1/3 of the way there). I am also happy to report that I am down to 201 pounds, I intend on breaking 200 by the time the triathlon come around (less than 3 weeks)…
