I mentioned on Wednesday that I was having some pain with my right groin, and it seems things have cleared up for the most part. I was able to get my 9 miler in on Thursday, with a little bit of distress, the groin (actually the whole upper leg) was real tight towards the end, I thought I was doomed. It actually did good because it didn’t bother me anymore that day. I said to myself during the run that I made a mistake in running so soon, but overall it turned out okay.
I did get out again today to make up some of the missed mileage, and everything feels fine now. I’m still going to take it somewhat easy, even with an 18-miler up tomorrow and then 8 after that on Sunday. I got just under 3 miles in today to stretch the legs, and the important part is to stay loose, keep the heat on and the blue-emu oil … good stuff.
My doctor did advise me that he was going to put me on a single blood pressure pill because my top number has been running high. He said my optimal blood pressure should be 130/80, I was averaging about 142/81, which isn’t bad, but he doesn’t agree. I did tell him that if he puts me on it, and it effect my training, I will stop it until the race is over, I don’t want to destroy what I worked so hard for.
I’m really hungry today, I think we’ll do pizza for lunch … that sounds like a good deal … maybe i’ll follow it up with some ice cream. I’m like a pregnant woman when I train, I get this undying craving for ice cream (actually, wendy’s frostys!)
