Its been a few days since i’ve had time to update the blog, due mostly to being busy. The confirmation letters for the marathon are posted and in the mail, i’m starting to get excited. I had a problem with motivation this past weekend, and even earlier in the week until, odd enough, I felt soreness in my legs again (from the SCBHM race). I changed the workout a bit this week so I can get my long run in Friday instead of Saturday due to having to teach (i can’t imagine running 20+ miles, then standing for 4 more while I teach). The motivation that helped was both the race this weekend, the commercials for Steamtown are now on the TV, and now the confirmation. I really plan to work up the marathon weekend, including going to the mass at 5:30 and possibly the pasta party (the family should love it). We’ll see though …

I’ve only got one more hard week before I start to taper … can you believe that i’m already at the taper point for the marathon????? Most plans have considered a 3-week taper to be adequate, since I plan on a 22-miler next weekend if I can stand it. that gives me almost a day of recovery for every mile I did, and I imagine i should feel pretty good by race day.

The excitement is brewing …. I can’t wait!!
