It never seems to amaze me that pains seem to creep back up. I’ve got 4 more weeks of training left to go and my left groin area is VERY sore. I mixed up the training a bit this week and did my 3 day in a row from Mon-Wed, took thursday off, did my long run (20+) on Friday and my pace run on Saturday …. and during the entire 10 mile pace run, I could feel the tightness in my left groin. It seems that HEAT makes it feel real good, and even after I stretch its not too bad. I’m fortunately at a point where I took today (sunday) off, and can take an easy day (probably cross or maybe 2 miles) tomorrow, so I hope this clears up so I can get a 10-miler in on Tuesday morning. I have to move things around again due to the Who concert on Tuesday night. I know for a fact that I won’t run 10 miles Wednesday morning, so we’ll train smart and do it on Tuesday.

I survived the ever-so-long 30+ miles in 2 days … totalling over 50 miles for the week. I thankfully only have 1 more TOUGH week to go, then we start to taper. I really need the taper time to get my body back to where it needs to be. Its been tough training this long, and at this intensity. Its funny to look back at my training last year (for the 9-mile diamond run) and see the difference in how i’ve developed in a years time. My long run at that time was 10 miles, and it was killing me. I think that I did over 20 on Friday (and it killed me), thats a lot of progress.

I hope to get some good rest tonight and tomorrow, and hope the body cooperates with me for Tuesday morning. It should be interesting.
