Its hard to think that 4+ months of work is coming to an end. I’m having a struggle with going two days without running since its the first time i’ve taken consecutive days off since I started. I’m feeling bloated, which I think is good, lots of water and carbs is the recipe right now and I was told that I should gave 2-4 pounds of water/carbs in the next day or so.
I’m a little worried about my foot since the pain kind of throbs on and off here and there. Its nothing major and I don’t feel i’ve damaged anything, it might just be overuse from what they say. My concern is that it starts to hurt during the marathon, but I feel that the adrenaline will take any concern out of my mind.
I’ve been checking the last minute checklist, I have my directions and my plan. The only thing I have to do is confirm that my dad can get my family there for the finish, which I know he can, just have to give directions. I checked out my number, I think i’m number 834 at this point in the race (according to some PDF I found on a local website).
The weather should hold out, although it will be a bit brisk for the morning start. Its slated to be 36-38 degrees in Forest City on Sunday morning, thats long-sleeve, and probably gloves weather … scary. Its expected to be in the upper 60’s by mid-afternoon, so my guess is that the sun will warm things up quickly.
I expect to give one last update prior to the race, but its going to be a tough one tomorrow night … I think i’m ready, I just have to trust my training.
