It doesn’t seem so long ago that I was training for Steamtown, but i’m happy to be back in training again. I like to have the structure that I get when I do this. I unfortunately put a few pounds on in the past 6 weeks, my starting weight for this training session is 200 pounds, and I expect to get to 195 or less, quite easily since it includes more speed sessions and focused training than Hal Higdons did. My goal overall is not to lose weight, but it sure helps …
Since today was the first day, I only cross-trained, but it felt good. My foot isn’t bothering me at all, so thats a good thing. Tomorrow is the first training run, and then of course 2 races this week (Diamonds and the Arthritis run), then we get serious … I have to get the last of the races done though.
Phewww, its hard to think there is just 18 short weeks to go …. 😉
