Well, after sleeping with the muscle strain in my back, I have accepted the fact that i’m going to be out of action for a least a few days, therefore I have to rethink the training for the spring marathon. I know this is only a muscle strain, so I know it will heal, but how long is the question. I am going to see if Dr. Mark is around today to get it adjusted and get some treatment for it, but its got to be Rest, Ice, Elevation (if possible) and Compression for the weekend, so no long run this week, and no race on Sunday.

I think Pfitz offers a 16 week or a 12 week marathon training program, so I might have to adjust to go on one of those instead, its unfortunate, because I did have a good experience at The Diamond run yesterday, I’d like to build on it, but my back really hurts (although remember its still in an acute stage).

Since I’m off from work today, i’ll check out Pete’s plans and see how we can adjust it for this injury. This sucks, but hey, its all part of being an athlete I guess.
