Well I took it easy today for two reasons, first, my foot was still a little sore when I started out, and second, it was COLD out! its supposed to start warming up from here on out, so I’m hoping that its true.
I was able to do 4.25 miles today instead of 9 miles, I decided its better to take it easy if this in the acute stage and make up the miles later. I was doing some research, and its possible that i’ve got a little posterior tibial tendinitis, which is tendinitis in the lower lower part of the leg, around the ankle .. I can’t verify it, but its possible that this is the case. I guess i have to do more research. It doesn’t really bother me much, but there are times when it does, and even when I was running, i was just fine. If it actually wasn’t so cold out, I probably would’ve gone more miles than I did.
We’ll keep the ice on it, keep it elevated and pump up on the ibuprofen as we continue on in the taper. It just seems consistent that I have tendinitis again because I ramped the miles so high the other day, and then followed it up with basically speed work outs this week.
Ho hum, its never easy training for a marathon, but the good part is that I can still run…
