I’ve suddenly gotten the motivation to commit myself to at least 1 fall marathon, if not 2 fall marathons, we’ll just have to see. I have yet to formally register, but I expect to within a week or two… the question becomes, what will be the training plan for it? If I decide to go 18 weeks (which I probably need at this point), that would mean training starts just after the half marathon in 2 weeks .. thats okay I think, its about time to kick it up a notch I think..
So maybe the second marathon is New York, or maybe Philly if that falls through? Should I try to get selected again this year? I dunno, we’ll have to see, its a real pain to run big marathons, but i’m bored with Steamtown (plus too many bad memories) and need something new… at least the LVH marathon changed the course around a bit, so a little change is good (and its for a great cause). I expect to run for both my daughter and for my grandaughter, who both have Down Syndrome…
Anyway, I consider myself building base mileage now… i’m pretty consistent running 6 miles everyday during the week and for the next two weekends, I expect to hit at least the half marathon distance, just to be sure I can do it. Its been WAY too long since a real long run, and I think my body is craving it. Its weird how us runners work, isn’t it?
I have to goto the doctors on Friday, for a well appointment, since I have a new doctor now. I know i’ll be told that I have high blood pressure and they’ll want to medicate me… I guess I should just prepare for it. THe worst part is that I have to get on the scale too. I know that I haven’t been eating the best, but I don’t feel overly bloated .. i’m actually fitting into my size 34 pants, even though I didn’t expect to.
Thats about it for whats new .. just making decisions for the fall, we’ll see which way we go.. only a few weeks until we start training again, i’m actually excited about it …
