According to what I read on the Runners World Forums, which pointed me to an article in the NY Times, the lottery for the NYC marathon is tomorrow, so I should know something by tomorrow afternoon or Thursday at the latest. I’m trying not to get my hopes up, because from what was written in the NY Times article, last year, 57000 people registered and only 5600 got in, ugh, thats not a good chance. I guess I should be prepared to be disappointed.
In the meantime, I’ve started planning for the other potential marathons that I could so in the fall if that (as I expect it to), falls though. Philly or Harrisburg … not sure, I guess it will just depend although Philly seems like the more likely candidate since I’ve already done Harrisburg in 2007.
Despite my anticipation for the lottery result, I got my first mid-week 9 miler in today without any issue. I was tired and sweaty, but didn’t feel any fatigue, which is a good thing. If I can catch up on my sleep tonight, maybe i’ll try 9 again tomorrow before I take Thursday off for my blood test … I’m thinking I might not do a speed workout on Friday, just because I don’t want to stress my legs prior to a 17-miler on Saturday .. we’ll have to decide on it I guess..
