So today was my first real “longer day” from a workout perspective. I still have been unable to get outside on the bike since early December due to the cold and now the SNOW. Ugh, its depressing. Regardless, I had my first chance to test my diet with a longer 2+ hour workout, and so far, so good… I started out this morning with my normal coffee, but then made Power Cereal, which consisted of:
3/4 cup quoinoa
1 tbsp almond butter (raw)
4 tbsp coconut milk
1 sliced banana
2 scoops protein powder (LivingProtein)
When you mash it all together, it looks pretty gross, but boy, its good and filling and easily got methrough the workout. I did 1:45 on the trainer and 25 minutes outside running in the snow. Afterward I had a LivingGreens smoothie with coconut milk and a raw egg (sounds gross, but its not) and of course ice.
I still feel good, but this length workout allowed me to eat a bit more at lunchtime, so I had a fresh beef burger on 3 pieces of Eziekiel whole wheat bread, with fresh bacon and feta all on one layer, then spinach, argulua, tomato and avocado spread on the second layer. the burger was cooked perfect, still pink in the middle, yum.
All these changes to my eating has allowed me to get down to 180.8 pounds as of this morning. my week-over average is at 182.2, which I think I will easily surpass over the next few weeks. I tried hard not to cheat during the holiday, and was fairly successful, although I did have a few cheats. I expect to eat pizza on New Years Eve as well, but that’s it. It really is getting easier to follow this diet with all the new creation I’ve come up with.
I was thrilled that my FLO’s arrived on Xmas eve, just in time to put under the tree. They are not ready to use yet, because I need a cassette, tires, and tubes yet… but there is no rush since I don’t expect to use them until March… I got the 60 for the front and the 90 for the back, and they are sweet….
That’s about it, though, things are going well, heading into week 5 of base training, we will extend the hours this week…. then we’ll go into a recover week…
Well, happy training, spring will be here in less than 90 days….
